Just when I thought things were going good with my favorite insurance firm,
I go down to the "base" exchange and picked up a copy of the recent Army
Times and the recent Air Force Times.
There, in the Air Force Times, is an ad featuring a "BSA member" and his
family. Two other Scouters have seen similar ads in local military
publications; one description follows:
>On page 3, there is a quarter page USAA ad featuring what appears to >be a
family of four -- two "parents," a girl who appears to be of >pre-school
age, and a young boy wearing a Cub Scout uniform with >Bobcat and Wolf
badges and what seems to be an Arrow of Light badge >under his right pocket
(picture on newprint is too grainy to be certain of >this last badge).
Yep, it is an Arrow of Light emblem. Wrong place for it, by the way.
Normally, just cutting out the ad and sending it to the Risk Management
Division, BSA at the National Office address with the date and publication
found does the trick.
Thanks for being proactive....I haven't noticed the Cub Scout ad but I did
notice the Boy Scout ad (which USAA did pull). Obiously, someone doesn't
understand the connection between Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting. I hope
that someone will contact USAA and let them know that Cub Scouting and Boy
Scouting are parts of the same organization!
