To those who need a manual to "straighten out the troop"
Be careful about selling other peoples time
especially volunteer time that can be easily diverted to the golf course or
filling the 401K.
This post will try to call attention to problems arising when well meaning
folks try to standardize troop operations.
Encourage your scoutmaster to provide the compliance you (the committee)
Expect the boys to ignore most of what you (the committee) want (its their
Concerned parents lobby the committee in most matters
Concerned committee s direct the Scoutmaster in all matters
The Scoutmaster leads the boys to the aims with the methods of scouting.
Tackle the issues that may cause you (the committee and CP) embarassment or
liability problems. Leave the methods of scouting to your Scoutmaster and
his assistant (assuming they know them).
Besides fooling with peoples money the area of "rules and regulation" is a
mine field and can cause many of your boys (and parents ) to look for
Never Do A Job A Boy Can Do.
By all means proceed to your needs but , please practice low impact , user
