If I could respond. For Chistmas 1997 we bought my son. Second Class a t
the time a decent telescope. We live in Cleveland OH (USA) which is
right next to Lake Erie. It has been said that our sky is cloudy and
overcast more days than "foggy, old" London (UK not Ontario.) Most
evening when the sky is clear are in the dead of winter, Jan-Feb and
often near zero degrees F. (not conducive to long outdoor times. I
myself was a young adult before I discovered that in OTHER parts of the
country it is sunny even in the winter. Because most summer nights here
are overcast or otherwise inclement and bright city lights are prone to
cause stargazing to lose it's luster, I can see a real need for a
software package to do star gazing. I never said it replaced the real
thing, but it sure would help teach about the cosmos here.
