Thanks to everyone who replied!
Our council evidently keeps a copy of the advancement reports, and they
copied for me what I didn't have (which was all the ones before I took
the job of Adv. Chairman). I just hope there weren't any missing. Now
to track down the troop copies of all the Boy Scout Applications
(Council doesn't seem to have those, and all they could tell me is
whether or not a boy is registered, not *when* he first registered).
Our troop doesn't have a membership chairman, and our (self-admittedly
disorganized) SM has been "keeping" all that stuff--supposedly. I'm
also trying to find out exactly who is registered as a Merit Badge
Counselor with the troop (I've been told that my husband and I are in
the Council computers as MBCs, but I haven't figured out yet what file I
need to ask for to see who else is registered). I'm slowly but surely
getting it all straightened out, but I can see already that I'm going to
have to do some training for MBCs and BOR members. I'm also preparing a
handout for the boys to tell them exactly the way the merit badge
program is *supposed* to work.
