I recently got my National Tour Permit for Philmont in less than two weeks
through normal channels.
Mine was issued on the 26th of May. Did they get that far behind in such a short
amount of time ?
If you look at the National Tour Permit application itself, however, it does
state to submit it " at least one month before your tour". I would think that
the proper planning for a trip of that magnitude would include the tour permit
in plenty of time.
Good luck, my friend, and worst case scenario is that you go without a permit
but have one submitted. Not my first choice, but as long as it is submitted, you
should be OK. <but you didn't hear that from me>
