You must be triply frustrated that you suffered damage, that it happened at a
Scout outing, and that your complaint to the CC fell on deaf ears. I think
that the matter should be taken up with the SM and the PLC for their input
and suggested course of action. You should not let the matter drop.
What concerns me some is that it has taken "a few months" to talk to the SM.
Why, if it was an incident that cost you so much, did it take you so long to
bring it to the one person who should be most concerned? Why did you go to
the CC who has (or should have) little to do with such operational issues?
When the trail is cold, it is much harder to flush the fox.
I agree with Darrell who hopes that the incident can be resolved through the
PLC and the SM and that Scouting can keep an active participant (you!) active.
