$100 or $200, if its his, who cares. If he is asking for money from the
troop to carry, I would firmly tell him to seek reimbursement after he spends
it, and make sure he brings receipts.
I always have at least $100 when I go to camp. Sometimes I bring up $150.
But it is because I drive up and I get real concerned about the possiblity of
a tow truck, or a medical bill in a small town with no cash machine. I
usually go to a Rotary Club for lunch (we Rotarians have a once a week
meeting obligation) during the week and may buy a camp shirt or something in
town. And I do buy lunch for myself and my son (if I bring one) on the way
up and back.
Just my idea. Your mileage may differ.
