Hi David, Hey! I like that name,
In BSAs Scouting Books: such as the ScoutMasters Handbook, =
BoyScout Handbook, and particularly the BoyScout =
Requirements Booklet all this stuff you asked is described.
You or yours should buy the last one to help you on your
journey to Eagle. Obtain the Eagle Application / Project =
Packet as well to "Be Prepared"
=46rom all the above you will find that the SM can assign
and create WITH or for you many fun positions that benefit
your troop and perform a useful function. An election is
definetly not needed and Creative Positions is one of the
neat things BSA has provided.
Using the above information in a REAL troop such as yours
or mine is sometimes not enough when the SM or the entrenched
adult leaders have become accustomed to "Well we have always =
done it this way", refuse to read the books or show you their
"ScoutMaster Trained" or "Eagle" Badge. SO ANYWAY if =
appropriate get your dad (ASM), your mom or you, to show the =
1999 BS Requirements Book to your SM and keep pushing even =
up through Troop Committee discussions until you start filling
other Troop or Patrol leadership positions. And have some fun.
David *-GOOD LUCK-* on your Journey. =
YiS, IMHO, and may we each attempt to live the SO,SL,SS,SM
