Post Office, WAS Re: Gov to charge for e-mail - HOAX

But, on the other hand, the Post Office IS trying to set up their own
e-mail system where they will be able to verify that the intended recipient
does recieve their "mail", or at least it was a good "address" that it was
sent to. And yes, if they pull this together there will be a "per item sent"
charge, but only charged to the sender exactly as if they dropped a letter
in the mailbox with a stamp on it, NOT to the recipients ISP. Remember that
the Post Office provides a service to the sender for a $ charge, not who it
was sent to. If the PO can pull this off, it will definately be a good
service for the PO, as they will be able to offer a more guaranteed delivery
of mail than just regular e-mail (haven't we all had something come back
because of a "bad address"?) just like the old fashioned hard copy but with
the speed?? of the internet.
Of course, this might just put me out of work :-).
