Scouts-L Mail Archive for June of 1999: Service Stars
Tue, 1 Jun 1999 11:43:43 -0500
I have been asked by Scouts and Scouters about multiple service stars.
We see Scouts wearing five or six service stars with green backs and/or
yellow backs. When I was a kid we removed the old service star when we
attained another year so all we had at any one time was one yellow
backed service star and one green backed service star (i.e., if we had
tenure in both Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting). It seems to me that the
service star notes in the insignia guide allude to this but are not very
clear on it. It's not something that is a major issue, just a point of
interest. What's the scoop Scouts-L?
