This really appears to be a great topic. I would only suggest one safety
consideration, but it is a very major one.
When launching, this rocket can develop great force and great velocity quite
quickly. It is exceedingly important that the rocket be pointed upward and
that no one be allowed to put themselves, particularly their eyes and their
heads in the path of the rocket prelaunch. I can just see the Cubs screaming
"I want to hold it." and pushing each other to get at it -- and then one head
gets in the flight path while another Cub gets pushed and lets go.
So for that reason, just like the launches at NASA, I recommend a rigorous
safety regimen where no one but the launcher is allowed closer than about 15
feet from the rocket when it is mounted and particularly not when the pump is
