My son is the first eagle for our new troop (we have been chartered
only for two years). Our committee chairman is from another troop
that have a tradition of the parents of each eagle scout donating
something to the troop in honor of their son making eagle. My wife
and I agree that this is a good tradition and are willing to make a
nice donation to the troop.
We have been ask to donate a candle holder or center piece for
courts of honor. The troop has either been using a log with holes
drilled in it or has borrowed an elaborate holder from another troop.
At other courts of honor, I have seen elaborate and nice candle
holders that were evidently handmade for that troop. Is there a
place to order a nice candle holder with appropriate Boy Scout
insignia or does anyone have plans for a nice holder that I can give
to a craftsman to build for the troop. The court of honor is not
until August, but I want to get started on this as soon as possible.
My wife and I are willing to spend a reasonable amount to get a nice
holder for the troop. Any help would be appreciated.
