Further changes to Wood Badge?

At my recent council's University of Scouting Arts session this past
weekend, I learned of further changes to Wood Badge. At the time, my
information was that Cub Scout Trainer Wood Badge was being replaced by a
revised Train-the-Trainer course for all areas of scouting, and a new Cub
Scout Leader Wood Badge to exist along side the soon to be revised Boy Scout
Leader Wood Badge.
I was informed by some of the Wood Badge bigwigs in my council that instead
there will be ONE Wood Badge course for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing
leaders. Info on all these programs wil be covered. Some scoutcraft stuff
will be dropped, most likely being taken on by the new Powder Horn Advanced
Venturing Leader Course being developed (Powder Horn is strickly advanced
scoutcraft/high adventure skills to meet the needs of those working toward
the Ranger award), which some feel will become a WB-like 'Advanced
Scoutcraft Skill Course' for not just Venturing, but Boy Scouts Leaders as
Personally, I hope this is not so. I would rather see separate Cub Scout,
Boy Scout, and Venturing WB courses, for no other reason that each unit is
organized differently. One of the hallmarks of WB in my opinion, is that
you learn how a BS troop is supposed to be organized and run by being a part
of one. How will that affect Cub Scout and Venturing leaders to be part of
a WB course based on a BS troop, when their units will be organized
Any one here with more accurate/correct info on this??
