My son was requested to teach a session on reflector ovens while on JLTC
staff several years ago. He did a repeat performance last year and
considers himself a minor expert. Since his demonstrations involved
actually cooking for about 6 patrols at each of the JLTC's, he would be the
most experienced person I know to tell you how to use one. I can pass on
any questions you might have.
As for what I know, Campmor sells a nice folding model for $27.99. You can
make one yourself from a roll of aluminum gutter flashing that can be bought
at any hardware store. You can also fake it with an old pizza box covered
in aluminum foil. At least one of the old BSA Fieldbooks has a 4 page
design in it that I will find for you if you like, since I am now the proud
owner of a complete set of Fieldbooks.
