Annoyed at National

You Know, I'm getting mad as He-- and I don't want to take it anymore!
If anyone from NATIONAL is bothering to monitor this list take heed, better
yet, take it to a meeting somewhere.
I am getting pretty annoyed at whoever it is (the almighty National) that
continues to revise, revamp, change, modify or clarify scouting materials
for what certainly appears to be for the almighty $$.
I used to say to people, no it isn't for the $$ there are changes, better
colors, better layouts.
Ha. Have you seen the errors in the BSA handbook? new SM Handbook, and
now More $$ for a unorganized WW. While the official council stores
continue to see you that which has been replaced!
The Scouting handbook even fills itself up by repeating the rank
advancements with places to check off in the front AND the back.
And Uniforms..."We are bringing back the pants pockets...Yeah! Anyone
tried putting stuff in them?
The manuals even have the gall to put in the statement," these requirements
may be changed at any time".
After getting scre---- by Nationals Seabase this year and dissappointing 16
young scouts due to new "2 crew only, same adventure, not again in 2000
rules", not even distributed to troops, I will avoid National programs for
a long while.
It will be a LONG time before I have TRUST (wow a scout law trustworthy,
Are you listening National?) in what comes from the National program.
When if ever are the thousands of volunteers that cannot afford the big
bucks to go to National planning parties, going to have some input to what
happens on a national level.
I have been with this program as an adult leader for over 13 years and have
NEVER seen a survey or opinion poll from Our Council, much less National.

BTW...has anyone noted the change in the 98 Guide to Safe Scouting that a
16 y.o with 6 months driving, no accidents or mv violations and parental
permission can drive scouts to and from an event? Scarey Huh?
Without an adult...yeah! No Lie, read the new red book closely!
Shocked the Heck out of alot of veteran leaders at SMF!
