Great, Now you've gone & made perfectly good sense, and supported it
with facrs and well-grounded opinions.
I was not a happy Scouter when I first heard of the ovrflights; but
your posting certainly made sense. If we can save our aviators from
injury & death, it is a sacrifice Scouts and Scouters should be willing
to make. Hmm, Loyal, Helpful, Obedient, Cheerful all seem to apply
I share your views on the situation over there. This has been an area
of serious "tribal warfare" for centuries. Short of another
totalitarian regime, any action on our part will not serve any lasting
purpose. The moment we leave, the killing resumes.
Sad but true, the innocent victims of today will grow up harboring ugly
memories of what happened to them & their families, and many will
become the warriors of tomorrow.
It's a shame that the Scouts & Scouters in the area don't have a louder
voice. What would happen if they declared Kosovo to be the sight of a
Catholic & Protestant mothers of Northern Ireland came together to help
stop the violence there. Couldn't the Scouting Movement do the same
thing. Or, have all the Scouts & Scouters been forced to flee?
