Most folks in scouting cannot imagine a time when their unit did not exist
nor remenber hope it came into existence.
Sometime during training gigs, and if the class is large ,enough you can
role play the start of a new unit.
Imagine a community with no scouting.
As you wend the story from coffee clatch talk about fractious youth wih too
much energy , to actual contact with scouting officials (a couple of people
get together, thinks this "new " scout thing is a good idea, lets find out
Enter stage left , the commissioner or professional, ask among the students
what it is they do in life and you can play act assigning them roles of
IH,CR,CC,CM&CM,SM ,select a meeting place ......and so forth....as the
organizational needs arise A,B,C etc
and by the time you are done talking about the more distant committee
assignement for the new unit (the 12th new Committee Chair for the
procurement of rocking chairs) there is not a person in the room that
does'nt understand the CP concept of scouting and how it is supposed to work
(or does'nt when subverted )
