ebay, Scouters Journal and your local music store are all good sources for
bugles. Anyone buying a bugle, however, should be aware that the current
made-in-China variety that I have seen at Scouters Journal and at Army-Navy
stores is smaller and pitched in a different key than the old official BSA
bugle that you can buy used at ebay or a standard bugle you would buy at a
music store. I suspect the size difference might make this bugle more
difficult for a trumpet/cornet player to play. One effect of the different
keys is that this smaller made-in China bugle will not work well in
combination with a standard bugle for the echo or duet effects of two
buglers playinig together.
