Starting fires with flint and steel

After watching three "experienced" youth embarrass themselves trying to demo
this for Cub Scouts I vowed never to let it happen again.
You want it to start? Go volunteer to clean the lint trap on the dryer. All
the time. Put it in a plastic bag. Keep it dry. Practice getting the sparks
to generally fly in the direction you aim. Then pull out some lint and aim
I've been able to get Scouts who have NEVER done this before to feel like
real woodsmen using something like this that catches easily.
