Dunno. I have camped in bear country more often than not, and have
learned to keep foods and snacks out of tents, and where possible, up
in the air. Now the psychology of a bear's nose is still a mystery
to me. I would not purify the tent with essence of bacon, that's for
sure. Nor with an absolutely accurate berry smell. What else bears
like by way of aromatics, I can't say. There must be a bear expert
around here somewhere ... any Yellowstone Rangers around?
For mosquito considerations I avoid scented shaving cream and all
after-shaves. But bears?
