my 2 cents on CSTWB

i cn understand nationals' decison to discontinue cub scout trainer wood
badge. it is a pity, because it was valuable -although evidently not
valuable enough for the number of trainers it produced who remained with the
on of the problems i feel was it's direction. in its current form it is
intended for persons who will end up being cub scout TRAINERS. (i'm
screaming because that is a very narrow group of scouters). That is the
title of the course: CSTWB)
if there is to be value in the course, it should address the issue of cub
i realize a cub scout leader wood badge course (if there were to be one)
can't mirror the BS LEADER WB course, but one might be tailored to the cub
scout program. then it could attract larger numbers of cub scouters earlier
in their tenure.
(the CSTWB still had a tenure requirment. the BSLWB now has none).
(i know that is another issue worthy of discussion and comment, but national
decided to delete the tenure requirement from BSLWB. therefore they could
do so for a revised CSLWB program. both changes might increase retentivity.
so ratehr than tell national u'r disappointed in the cancellation, suggest
they change the thrust/direction.
