Followup: Program Notebook

The "Scoutmasters' Kit" posting a short time back had an entry in
it that I didn't followup with; please allow me to do so now.

Here's how I did it:
*Three, Four or Five plain index cards (you may choose to get
different colored ones or just the plain white ones)
Turn the booklet onto the back cover. Place an index card on the
booklet aligned with the top and right edge of the booklet. Tape
the card to the booklet on the top, right and bottom of the card.
Take a second card and place it overlapping the first card and tape
the right side and bottom ONLY to the cover and card. Do the same
with the third, forth and fifth card. Then trim the left side to
be even with the back cover and apply one strip of tape to the left
What you will have is a set of pockets for various cards that you
will receive from volunteers or professionals, or for various
special cards (like Tot'em Chip, Scout Lifeguard, or other cards)
that you have.
The Program booklet fits into a uniform shirt pocket.
At the end of the program year, just remove the cards from the back
of the notebook and attach them to the new program notebook.
It's a nice item to have; if your Council don't have them for
distribution, ask them to order you and your fellow Scouters some.
BTW, there's also program notebooks for Unit Commissioners and at
one time, for District/Council volunteers too, as well as for Cub
Scouting and Venturing leaders.
With the new 8x11 format for many of the Scouting items, there's
also a nice Program Calendar that's available from your Council
that would go nicely as a resource item in a binder or notebook.
The additional items illustrated in the Program Notebook would also
go nicely into a binder or notebook too!!
