A couple points to Anthony's response.
The Chartered Organization Representative is not actually *multiple*
registered "in the unit". Why? The position of CR is a *council/district*
position, it IS NOT a unit position. The CR is listed on the unit charter,
but is not a unit member per se. This gives rise to the rule that the CR
may hold "two" unit positions, as explained on the adult registration form.
The CR may ONLY register as a committee member (MC),committee chairman (CC),
Tiger Cub Coach (TC), Den Leader Coach (DC) or Webelos Den Leader Coach
(WC). He MAY NOT register as a unit leader (see not from R & R below).
The ONLY positions that are not UNIT LEADER positions are MC and CC. This
would apply to Packs, troops, Teams and Crews.
The BSA Rules and Regulations (#57-492)is the reference for these points.
Article VI, Local Councils, Section 3, Local Units:
Clause 7: Chartered Organization Representative (stipulates the CR is a
council position, represents the chartered org on the District Committee,
and that he may not be a unit leader).
Clause 9: Leadership (stipulates the 21 and over age requirement and that a
unit leader will not serve simultaneously in any other position in the same
Article VIII, Adult Leadership:
Section I, General, Clause 2: "Unit Scouters. All adult members registered
with the unit, except the chartered organization representative who shall be
considered a council Scouter."
Section 3, Commissioned Leadership:
Clause 11, Unit Leadership: Stipulates unit leadership positions as unit
leader, assistant unit leader, den leader & assistant, Webelos den leader &
Note: Unit leader & assistant unit leader positions (which do change from
time to time) are presently:

Scout Coach, Assistant Varsity Scout Coach, Crew Advisor, Associate Advisor,
