I am confused and wondering about the expectation of many re: Scoutnet 2000.
>From my past experience the Council limited acess to the official data base.
Being very active in the Council/Dist. I from time to time, have a need to
know data from various list like Council: SM list, Reg Adult list, and on
rare occasion youth list. The coucil limits the acess to this info.
I have talked to my council, and believe while no policy has been made for
Scoutnet 2000, a Scouter should not expect the Council to open this info to
anyone, except for internal use. If I should need something, It will remain
on an approved need to know basis.
I believe the council (at this time prior to actual determination) expects the
Scouter 'suse of Scoutnet 2000 to be the ability to bring advancment in on
disk and make their job a little easier as well as to file recharter using
electronic disk again reduceing manual data entry time. This will serve to
make things easier for both the unit and the council. A win/win.
Do other scouters have a differing expectation?
Again this is merely what I expect. There is not an official reg re: Scoutnet
2000 that I am aware of issued by my council, and opinions or expectaions do
