The boys should have immediate recognition. That means having award
ceremonies monthly! How big is the pack? A purpose of the monthly pack
meeting is to recognize the boys. Every pack meeting - every boy should
be recognized in ne way or the other be it through advancement or just by
getting up and doing something.

Your pack has never received the Quality Unit award or Summertiime
activity award? Summertime Activity Award is a requirement of the
Quality Unit Award.

I mentioned above? YES! You are not being too idealistic or "bookish".
Did the CM ever go to training? What are current pack meetings like? If
you want to do the things mentioned above, does that mean that your pack
meetings were without these elements? I say, the pack is in need of you
and your desire to bring them a quality program. Go for the job! I
wouldn't worry too much about the parent's reactions. The boys need to
have fun. They are afterall our reason of being in this program! Do it
for the boys!
Also - it's great to see that you have gone to so many trainings.
Continiue with what ever is offered! Especially Roundtable and Pow Wows!
