Are these annual dues or monthly dues? It seems quite steep to me for
monthly. If these are annual dues you have a few options:
1. Break it down to a monthly payment option.
2. Has the Scout been actively participating in fund raising. Popcorn
commissions which the boy earns can
be applied to these dues.
3. Set up a scholarship for Scouts to work off by doing a predetermined
number of community service
4. Don't assume. Meet with each family individually and reassess their
needs periodically, while encouraging
them to have their boys earn their way through Scouting with
participation in your various fund raising
opportunities. Our pack encourages all Scouts to do this regardless of
financial situations. You might have
more Scouts receiving Boy's Life and participating in summer programs
too this way.
