New Boy Patrols - New question.

What do you do after the year is up?
I have been interested in the thread concerning the New Boy Patrols.
Last year we had 8 expirenced scouts and bridged 13 Webelos. We
created 3 patrols with a mix of old and new. The idea was that the
expirenced scouts would teach the new scouts. We had mixed results.
This past weekend we bridged eight boys from one pack (from two dens)
and 13 boys from another pack (also two dens). I plan to form new boy
patrols and keep them grouped by pack. The new patrols will each have
a Troop Guide (14 year old Star or Life scout) and Assistant
Scoutmaster / Parent helper.
Now to the question(s):
After the year is up, how do you "Disband" the new boy patrol and how
do you integrate these boys into existing patrols? Do you have a
"draft" where the patrols pick new members? OR Do the scouts choose
which patrol they want to join? Was there any success/problems with
letting the patrol continue as a "Permenant" patrol?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
