The leaders book for the CREW organization (Venturing Leader Manual,
#34655)calls this group VENTURING.
The new Scoutmaster handbook (#33009, pp 142-145), and the new Boy Scout
Handbook (#33105, pp 420-424) refer to the Troop Patrol as a VENTURE Patrol.
A member of a CREW is a VENTURER (see page 308 of the Venturing Leader
Manual) while a member of a Patrol is a Venture Scout, and wears the Venture
strip on the Scout shirt.
So, I guess the best reference is to get the Scoutmaster and Venturing
Leader books. That's the "slam down hard on the table facts" official
(BSA and it's terms are almost like Microsoft and the word Explorer (which
as far as I know has nothing to do with Learninfg for Life, or does it!?!)
