We have some web pages that may help you out at:
http://usscouts.org/eagle/ where you'll find some addresses for folks that
may write congratulatory letters and a checklist for preparing for an Eagle
Court of Honor. There is also a wealth of information at
http://www.eaglescout.org that may be helpful.
Aside from these online resources, the best thing is to send a note to local
dignitaries, media, and businesses in your neighborhood. Many of these
business will send a very nice note.
A formal invitation card to friends and family is a nice touch, but not
necessary (it can be an added expense and if that is a problem, a simple
handwritten note is just as good).
The best format for these things is always to use words from the heart that
celebrate the unique qualities of the individual Scout. You know the Scout
better than anyone with a formula note. You can always tell a little about
the Scout, explain why it is a huge achievement, and invite/solicit
congratulations in words that convey your own pleasure at asking on behalf
of the Scout.
