Scouts-L Mail Archive for February of 1999: Mail Program NOT GOOD
Mail Program NOT GOOD
Sat, 6 Feb 1999 03:00:20 -0600
A LARGE Thank you to those who posted me privately and told me that
my "new mail" program doesn't do what it's supposed to do.
The postings were set for 66 characters per line, and some people
expressed that they had to scroll to get all of the stuff in the
line...this tells me that the word wrap is not wrapping right.
Also, I've had some problems this morning whereby some people on a
different list has sent attachments within their postings that
increased the file size of the posting to something over 50,000 in
lenght. This crashes NewMail, because it doesn't know how to
handle such large postings!
So, I'm back to the older, Windows program called InternetWorks
(which used to be part of the old Global Network Navigator, or GNN
software). I'll continue to use this until those over at NewDeal
works out their mailing program bugs!
Again, sorry for the problems with the postings over the last
couple of days, and thank you all for sending me your comments and
what the posting looked like on your end!
