Jam des Neiges sounds like a wonderful idea; it will be a great way to
celebrate the beginning of the last year of the 20th century. But it will be
another whole year
before we reach the 21st century.
If only we could convince Scouts (and Scouters) that a century begins with
year ending in "01" and ends with the year ending in "00." The first century
from the year 1 through the year 100, and every century since then has done
counting the same way, e.g., the sixth century was 501-600, the seventeenth
century was 1601-1700.
Okay, folks. Debate time again!
