Re: BOY SCOUT CAMPING FEES

Our Troop (20 Scouts) flexes based on the situation, but
generally, we charge $12 for a 1 night campout, and $15
for a 2 nighter. Driving adults go for free, non-driving adults
pay $10. Patrols shop for their own food, and sometimes
the adults have their own cooking patrol, and the rest of
the time they are assigned to a Scout patrol as a guest.
Designated Scout shoppers (with parent) turn in a receipt
and are reimbursed by the treasurer. Our fees and permission
slips are turned in 2 troop meetings before the campout
for menu and transportation planning.
We flex when the campout is a special higher cost activity -
then we charge more. We still then generally pay for
adults. For long distance driving, we reimburse for gas.
We count on each campout costing the treasury $100-$200
- - that's what fund-raisers are for.
Hope my $.02 helps.
