Just got the mailer over the weekend for the 1999 Trappers' Rendezvous run
by the White Buffalo District of Quivira Council. It's scheduled for Jan
15-17 at Harvey County Park west on Newton, KS. Last year it drew about
2,000 scouts from Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. It's a great event
focusing on the 1880s period.
But, the purpose of this post is to try to identify some Rendezvouers who
might be willing to set up period displays and activities that weekend.
They provide a lunch on Saturday and free wood for Rendezvouers presenting
program. If you have any good contacts, please let me know and I'll
followup to connect them with the committee.
If your unit is interested in attending, let me know and I'll have them
send you a brochure. Cost is $4.50 per scout with a $10 unit fee if you
register soon, includes patch. Price goes up about first of year.
