Show up for the segment wearing a tall chef hat, and Italy's national
colors in your clothes. Have a semi-hard pizza crust (Boboli's?) that
you are tossing around in the air. Sing a song as you enter
"when the moon's in the sky, like a huge pizza pie, that's amore"
(this may or may not be an actual verse). Have another trainer
interupt you about you are supposed to be doing a section on "Putting
Pizaaz in Training", not "Pizza in Training".
Act sheepish, then suddenly flash on the fact that
Scouting is supposed to be FUN and go back to singing Amore.
Ok, that's the first 30 seconds. Now what folks?
A Pepperoni stick to remind them the presentation needs to be peppy?
Telling them they need to be energetic and make sure they have a mata
"what's a mata" you havbe your plant ask you
"nothing, what's a matta with you" is your reply
You've now encouraged songs, costumes, props and walk-ons.
Time elapsed 1.5 - 2 minutes (max) since you entered the room.
Think of that prop comedian named Carrottop
he runs 90 to nothing, lots of props.
Make a switch from pizza person to road worker (or have a partner walk
in with a hard hat (even kiddo's fake plastic one is ok) and a work
shirt. Now take off on something like an idea or two from Program
Helps for the Cubstruction theme
You have again reinforced these ideas, and you still haven't used a
total of five minutes of your time.
Just one approach that might work for you.
