Don't know if there's a BSA policy on it or not, but our district
also, we don't like to see any commissioner serving in a program position,
SM or Asst. Not enforced, though. I'm on the committee of the unit where my
son was a scout (he's now an SA) and our UC also happens to be one of the
ADCs to whom I report; he's also registered as an SA with the unit. He used
to be the SM here several years ago. I don't like it because I feel that I
walk on eggs. If we had enough UCs then he might not have to act in that
capacity, but I'd still rather he register as a(n) MC than as an SA.
