I gotta endorse Mike Golrick's comments.
I'm sure there are some who are comforted by having By-Laws, but
frankly, the kinds of problems that might justify the effort needed to
draft By-Laws are seldom resolved merely by creating another piece of
paper. Either the By-Laws are thrown together without much fuss or
comment (and are likely never seen or used again!), or attempting to
draft them leads to big policy arguments that might otherwise never have
arisen! If there are large personnel or policy divides in your unit,
merely drafting By-Laws will not resolve them, I can assure you.
In short, if you *can* work together, you don't need By-Laws, and if you
*can't*, the ByLaws won't help, IMHO.
