For your information:
THE SKY IS FALLING
Now here's a web site to bookmark if you like the BIG light shows.
http://www.skypub.com/meteors/meteors.html is the web site of SKY Online.
Check them often to get the dates of coming meteor showers to show the kids
or enjoy yourself. They tell you when and where to look. Coming to a sky
near you on Nov. 17-18th...THE LEONIDS. This meteor shower occurs when
Earth passes near the orbit of a comet.
This is a wonderful site for all of you Star-gazers. The Leonids shower
>may< have several thousand (yes, thousand!) meteors over a 2 hour period.
The big question that they cannot seem to answer is exactly where and when.
It all depends on where the biggest concentration of cometary garbage is
when we intersect orbital paths. Best bet is Asia, but there is a chance
for the US, too. So for all of those Scouts internationally, go to this
site and see if your area might be part of this gigantic show. I will be
up early on the 17th and 18th with my eyes glued to Leo in the East.
