Andre's need for plans

To Andre and any other new SM and troop: This may have been
your first Camporee, or outing or Jamboree or whatever and
you and your new troop felt like orphans....never, never
feel embarrassed about the equipment you don't have or do
have. This is the best way to "network" with your other
scoutmasters and troops in the district. Why not ask them
for the plans to the table or patrol box. I'm sure you will
get several postings from this location on the URL's for
various plans, but will that gain you any new contacts? I
never have seen any troop scoff at another troop because
their gear is more primitive or less of it. More than
likely, the boys will say to each other: "Wow, where'd you
get that? or "Wow, I wish we traveled as light as you guys
do. We have to tote all this junk around."
Every troop has different gear. Are you really "gear
envious?" If every troop had the same gear, we'd be just
like in the army....uni...form. One shape, one color,
onesize, one everything.
Ask your other troop leaders. Go to a Roundtable. Meet
other scouters. You'd be surprisedhow they learned to do
I used to be a fox...
