I've seen a pair of pantyhose used with great success. Just make up
"packets" by tying a knot, putting in coffee, tie a knot, cut off, tie a
knot, put in coffee, tie a knot....etc, ad infinitum.
But my favorite is to simply dump the coffee in and boil it ala "cowboy
coffee". Yep, it's a little gritty at the bottom but hey, it makes for
good campfire talk! And that way you don't always get stuck making the
coffee because once you start making it that way, someone else will:
A. decide that it's too far down in the pot and they just can't chew the
stuff so they make another pot. OR
B. tell you that your're a maniac cook and that you're never to make
BLUE SKIES!, Any day above ground is a good day!
