I've been put in charge of planning a Holiday Campfire program for my
district. I've encountered just a few problems with this program. The
only program my team and I have come up with are singing songs (non-
denomination of course)
What I am looking for are any ideas about Holiday skits or other
activities that you feel might be appropriate for a campfire. We have
songs, but we are looking for Holiday Oriented skits, cheers, and
If anyone can help me out with any suggestions I would appreciate it
very much, so far the program is as follows:
4:00 - Activities team arrives at Deer Lake to set up the area where the
activities will take place. A fire is built and the reception area is
created. Refreshments are organized and any preparation that needs to
be taken will be taken.
6:30 - People begin to arrive.
7:00 - The program begins, everyone is seated, either amphitheater or
pavilion. We introduce ourselves, what is in store for the evening.
7:05 - We start by singing common holiday songs. Through out the program
, hot chocolate and hot cider will be served.
-Frosty the Snowman
-Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer
7:20 - Any unit skits, songs will be done during this time unless the
song has been mentioned either above or below.
7:30 - Skits (Majority Christmas Ones) will be created for the program.
Regular skits will also be performed.
-Bumblebee Skit (with a holiday undertone)
7:45 - The 12 days of Christmas will be acted out by cub scouts, and
leaders. We will provide the people with their parts and actions that
they will do to the song.
8:00 - Campfire will be brought to a close and everyone will be invited
to the refreshment area for snacks. It will also be hinted at that
Santa will make an appearance at this function.
- Santa and maybe an elf make an appearance with the kids
- small candy canes could be given out.
- pictures with Santa Claus can be taken.
9:00 - Clean up of the fire ring, and refreshment area begins.
Thanks in advance,
