I'll go you one further. On 21 November , our troop, along with our "sister" GS
troop, will be attending a Navy Football game, and camping near Annapolis. Every
campout we've ever taken has started on Friday night - until this one. Our troop
pull kids from two rival high schools, Dover and Caesar Rodney. On 20 November
the two schools play their annual football game.
When are plans called for leaving for Annapolis Friday evening, we had only 3 or 4
boys sign up. So we changed it to leave Saturday morning. Now 32 of our 34
registered scouts are going, along with 26 adults! In all, with the GS troop and
leadership, we'll have 76 people in camp. What could have been a bust now looks
to be the best attended outing of the year.
The moral: Don't forget the boys have lives outside of Scouting and be flexible.
