I remember a chapter in the book "Cheaper by the dozen" where the father was
teaching the kids Morse code. He put up signs (in code) which said things
like: "Who ever looks first in the pocket of my coat on the hall coat rack
will find a candy bar".
So make a game of it. And a little bribery never hurts.
