Why not go to your Charter Organization with your concerns. This is what
the Charter Organization Rep is for. THEY have to approve of all leadership
(including the CC, CM, DLs, and the committee members too) and of all Pack
policies. It IS their pack, not the CC's and they have the final word in it.
Run, don't walk to find support there.
If all avenues of communication are not already down with your CC, you
might even want to ask him/her to explain to you why the meetings must be
private. You might try to gently point out that Cub Scouting is devoted to
teaching Cubs how to be good citizens, and that also includes being able to
disagree with each other from time to time. Our Charter is set up to include
as many [participants as possible. Any parent who attends our monthly
committee planning meeting has a vote... all except me of course (I'm the
Cub Master). This makes it very easy for me to ask any parent who complains
about any activity, as to why they weren't there when we talked about and
voted on it. The wise man has many counselors.
