Yet another idea. You can also use the inverted lid of a metal
trashcan, also on top of rocks, bricks, etc.
And while we're on a dutch oven topic, if you're making a meal that
requires several courses or servings but you only have one oven, I've
used the disposable aluminum cake or pie pans as liners. If you put
three small stones in the bottom of the oven, under the liner, you avoid
much of the bottom scorching. You might even be able to stack a couple
of the pie plates and cook twice as much in the same time.
