Scouts-L Mail Archive for October of 1998: Reintroduction
Thu, 15 Oct 1998 10:26:10 -0600
Since it has been quite a while since I was last on Scouts-L I
really should reintroduce myself, so here goes.
I am Carol Breuer of Fort Collins Colorado, Thompson-Poudre
District of Longs Peak Council, where I serve as a Unit
Commissioner and a member of the district Boy Scout training
team. On the council level I am the Council Boy Scout Training
Chair and Wood Badge staffer. This month marks my 20th annivery
in the Scouting program.
I started with my son's Cub Scout Pack, did Cub Scout training
for our district in Nebraska and served as Cub Roundtable
Commissioner. I graduated to the Troop Committee when he joined
Boy Scouts, and when we moved to Fort Collins in 1984, I became
active with his troop here. I also joined the Commissioner
staff where I have been most of the time since, as a Unit
Commissioner and Assistant District Commissioner. I have also
done Commissisoner training and Commissioner College.
In 1986, I attended Boy Scout Wood Badge, NC-155, Eagle patrol,
here in Longs Peak Council, and have had the privilege of
serving on our Wood Badge staff 5 times. I am slated to be the
back-up course director for our next course in 2000, and course
director for the course after that, probably 2002.
Currently I am trying to get our Council Boy Scout Training
committee reorganized and functioning better as a group. But it
is a challenge even to get together for meetings when we are
spread across three states (NE Colorado, SE Wyoming, and the
Nebraska panhandle) which means several hours driving time for
some people to get to a common location.
Well, that's enough to give you all an idea as to what I am up
to. I am looking forward to sharing information with this
virtual roundtable once again. I've really missed this.
