Reintroduction -- and a question

Friends -- by way of this message those of you who care can take note of my
new e-mail address for all things Scouting and OA'ing (and trading, for
I have recently moved from McCall, Idaho, where I was Scoutmaster-emeritus,
Troop Committee Member, Eagle Advisor for the District, OA Chapter Advisor,
and Explorer Post Charter Rep, to Lewiston, Idaho, where I am newly an
Assistant Scoutmaster. District & Council are making noises about involving
me in more.
In moving I have also changed Councils, from Ore-Ida to Inland Northwest,
and OA Lodges from Tukarica 266 to Es Kaielgu 311. Altitude from 5,020 to
1,000-something. Air sure is thick down here. <G>
This past weekend went with four boys from our Troop to the OA Fall
Fellowship, where a good time was had by all. Ate too much, traded too
much, was rained on too much, and came hope happier.
My wife has her new job as a counselor at the local college, while I am
doing this and that of part times and looking for full time work.
Onward & upward! Son and grand-daughter are moving up here to be with us
most of the time. Other son is nearby in Moscow with his 4.0 (brag, brag)
at U. of I. Daughter is choosing between offered jobs, still in McCall, and
living in our home with several room-mates, a big help with having two
homes to pay for.
Being called upon to help with a big problem 'somewhere here in our
Council' (not myself, I assure you <G>) -- a Scoutmaster who got drunk on a
campout. I am told he is nearly as shocked as the rest of us. He was having
a bad time in several ways, which is a common excuse offered by those who
abuse, but why did he have the stuff along at all? (Topic for another time:
our Canadian brethren do not ban alcohol for the adults if out of the sight
and ken of the kids at the time, such as after they are asleep. I was
offered some at 11 pm at a Canadian Provincial Jamboree in 1991).
Thoughts of the group here: cashier him? cashier him unless he gets
counseling? accept his apologies and promises of nothing of the sort ever
Thank you for listening. Ted Burton, Inland Northwest 611, Es Kaielgu 311
