New York for a week!
Wed, 7 Oct 1998 16:48:11 -0700
I'm leaving next week for the CHADD conference taking place in New
York City. Will be there from Monday evening until Sunday noon. I'm
gonna miss you all.
When I get back I'll be full of news about the latest discoveries
about AD/HD. It's a pretty big conference and lots of fun. It's
taking place at the New York Hilton and Towers. Can't tell I'm
excited, can you?
Tonight at BSALT, we're giving the skit presentation of Coping With an
AD/HD Scout at Summer Camp. It's only 20 minutes long, but packed
full of tips. I just finished a brochure to hand-out also. Am also
doing my doctorate for Commissioner College on this topic.
Did some research last week at a previous session and
made some interesting discoveries. Out of approx. 70-80 people, I
discovered that approx. 10% of the scouts represented at the training,
have AD/HD. Only 2 leaders had any experience working with AD/HD and
only one person wasn't interested in any further training in working
with it. Turns out he is a psychologist!
I'll ask tonight if he specializes in this field.
I thought it was some interesting data though.
