One misassumption mr. Jacobi makes is that we ( read the U.S. or BSA)
set the rates. The reality is that the rates are set by WOSM with input
from the host country. The Jamboree portion of the fee is what they set.
The balance goes for Travel ( goes to a Commercial venture), included
gear( goes to BSA) and on-site equipment rental ( goes to the host
country). The after Jamboree tour is paid to local travel people in the
host country. Looking at the total Jamboree Fee, My son's is 4300 and
change (western region). Of that, less than 20% is the Jamboree fee.
