I wish you all would look at DL Vitamins differently!

I have been patiently reading about all of the great ways to use canisters,
candy, etc. to give DLs vitamins. Personally, I think that there is too
much opportunity to mislead young minds here. I do not think that any
association that we place on additive resources, drugs, vitamins, etc. can
be good for the young impressionable minds we deal with!
Drugs are drugs. I doubt that the very young understand the slight
differences between legal, over-the-counter boosters or illegal drug
boosters. Can they denote the difference between candy and pills? Do we
need to promote the idea that we, alone, are physically/mentally unable to
perform as great leaders without some enhancement? Yes, it's a neat idea,
but why can't you give DLs POWER BARS, or something with the mental
connotation of energy vs one of drugs? How about a ceremony with Akela,
conferring wisdom? Our children are VERY impressionable -
Elvis died from legally prescribed drugs. How many other (countless) models
of behavior disappoint our young charges with revelations that they
supplemented their physical/mental ability with a "vitamin" of some sort -
look at the summer discourses in our newspapers regarding McGuire? We
should not, as true leaders, "prescribe" anything as such, even in gest.
