Then there was the time my wife's Webelos Den had four certified ADD kids
in it, out of seven. It is well that she has the patience of Job and
natural talents as a counselor. I am sure that the addition of five more
kids might have exhausted her.
Your advice to put it back on the parents of the Den is appropriate,
assuming arguendo that they are not physically disabled from performing the
function. If you do get a volunteer after being strong about that, though,
this is a volunteer to be helped, coached, coddled, encouraged, you name
it. If this person winds up telling the other parents that she/he enjoyed
the position, it will help next time.
No Pack is too big if there are adults to work with it. The bigger it is
the easier recruitment is, for that matter.
